Lazy Bear Cabins is conveniently located in the western portion of the beautiful San Luis Valley between the Great Sand Dunes National Park and Preserve and the Mesa Verde National Monument. Both are worth a day of exploration. We are 18 miles east of the famed Wolf Creek Ski Area known for “the most snow in Colorado,” and are just minutes from the mighty Rio Grande with it’s many miles of gold medal fishing water. If that does not sound inviting enough, maybe golf at the new 18 hole Rio Grande Club will.

How about rock climbing, 4-wheeling, ice fishing, mountain biking, hunting, lake fishing, bird watching, touring the 2 million acre Rio Grande National Forest or the Silver Thread Scenic Byway? A person can enjoy most any other outdoor sport you can think of.

Prepare a picnic lunch and head up to one of the many alpine parks for a day of relaxation and exploration.
